The Colonial Streets

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

To me Singapore didn't really feel very Asian. Everyone spoke English; the high street could have been straight out of London (Topshop, Abercrombie & Fitch, Forever 21??!!) and the street signs looked identical to Ramsey Street. Not that I am complaining, this Asian/European/Australasian mix worked. However there were a few attributes that gave Singapore its identity, most noticeably the old colonial streets scattered around the city. The towering skyscrapers just blocks away unfortunately dwarfed their scale, but their characters and charm remained intact.
